GLASS PEAKS NEVER REALLY LEFT

‘Never Really Left’ is the latest track from alternative indie outfit Glass Peaks. With influences coming from the likes of Foals and Blaenavon, the band has quickly gained an appreciative audience thanks to their bouncy, catchy style. This is their first track of 2020, but it’s like they never went anywhere: huge drums, clean guitars and a powerful vocal performance sitting in the middle all combine to a grungy backing to an anthem looking at the toxicity of social media. “Someone once said to me ‘nobody really cares if you don’t go to the party and it’s so, so true. The same applies for this online world we live in,” explains vocalist/bassist Alfie Jefferies on the inspiration behind the track. The EP (It’s Raining On The Wrong Side Of The Window) from which this track comes is gearing up for the release, and the band will be headlining at London’s The Old Blue Last on May 1st, 2020. - Dan Peeke
